Quoitraumagenic is a system origin that is a hybrid of the pre-existing origin terms Quoigenic (coined by Solipsistful) and Traumagenic (coined by The Lunastus Collective). The specific combination of these terms was coined by youngpurplegoddess on Tumblr[1] and is defined as a system that was entirely/largely formed out of trauma, but the system doesn't want to disclose what kind of trauma they suffered (and whether it's the kind of trauma that is accepted by system exclusionists), because they don't consider the details of their trauma/origin someone else's business (similar to praesigenic), or because their trauma is in the grey area between traumagenic and non-traumagenic.
It was summed up by the coiner as meaning "We’re trauma-formed, and you don’t need to know the specifics because it’s not your business." It is a purposefully inclusive label that can be used alongside other origins or labels. There is currently no known flag for the term.
Reasons for identifying with the label[]
The following examples were given by the creator of people who might find themselves drawn to the label:
- A system that formed by trauma after the generally accepted cut-off age for trauma (which is cited by many as being between 6 and 9 years old)
- An exotraumagenic system or a system that formed through other kinds of trauma, such as generational trauma, that is not typically seen by exclusionists to be a cause of systems.
- A DID/OSDD-1 system with multiple origins that wants to specify that their other origins are important, even though many people think that DID/OSDD-1 is the only label that matters.
- A system that experienced trauma that caused them to develop a different disorder such as maladaptive daydreaming disorder that later formed a system.
- A system that used purposeful system creation or spirituality to cope with their trauma, and became plural through this.
- A system that does not fit any specific "wrong kind of traumagenic", but uses the label out of spite for people policing what counts as traumagenic.
