A seasonal fronter is a member of a system who tends to front more in a particular season, and who has the role of helping the system handle the season's weather. It can be considered a system role related to being a part of an aerogenic system. The term was coined by The Temenē Alliance in 2020 on Discord.

Child Neglect/Abuse
While seasonal fronters can exist in any kind of system, they are more common in systems that at least partially have a traumagenic origin, in which they are typically some kind of protector. In these kinds of systems, a seasonal fronter may have split to handle specific types of weather due to the system being neglected or abused as a child and having to find ways to cope with dangerous or painful weather without the aid of guardians, a form of neglect considered moderate neglect by the US government[1]. They may also have formed due to not having sufficient shelter as a child, or be related to ritual abuse where the child was purposefully abused by being placed in dangerous weather.
Seasonal fronters are also fairly common in neurogenic systems, where a system exists due to mental illnesses or neurodivergencies - for example, an autistic system having a higher need to specifically cope with unpleasant weather and splitting due to this.
