In plural terminology, a thoughtform is a term for a purposely created system member. It gained usage as an alternative for the term tulpa, which is considered by many to be cultural appropriation. One of the first uses of the term was used in Evans-Wentz's translation of the Tibetan Book of the Dead in 1927[1].

Thoughtforms are most often seen as members of parogenic (see flag in infobox) or willogenic systems, but can also be a part of other system types, such as polygenic systems. Members of soulbond systems are also seen by many to be some sort of thoughtform, as are those in paragenic systems.
